OLS (Online Language Support) is a European Commission platform that enables Erasmus+ programme participants to prepare for their mobility by improving their foreign language skills. It is now integrated into the EU Academy website. OLS offers online language courses to help overcome the main obstacle to mobility: lack of proficiency in the language of the host country or a foreign language.
Who can benefit from the OLS language platform?
Various groups benefiting from the Erasmus+ programme have access to the OLS language platform:
students
vocational education and training learners
young people participating in the European Voluntary Service
The OLS platform is also available to refugees to facilitate their integration.
How to participate in the OLS platform's language support: The institution or organisation organising Erasmus+ mobility sends a username and password to access the content of the OLS language platform.
In the “Study in” section of the Euroguidance website, one can also find information for each country about learning language. The ”Study in” websites of different countries often provide good information about study opportunities for those coming from another country. They include all sorts of practical information about living in the country.

The Common European Framework of Reference for Language skills (CEFR) is the European standard that defines language proficiency levels (A1 to C2).
These certifications attest to learners' language proficiency levels:
Certifications such as DELF/DALF (French), Goethe-Zertifikat (German), DELE (Spanish) and Cambridge English (English) refer to this standard. These certifications are not free, and there are numerous tests available to assess language proficiency levels, organised by private companies.
