INTRODUCTORY PARAGRAPH (OVERVIEW)
Several European platforms and networks focus on professional collaboration, peer learning and the exchange of good practices among educators and institutions in school and adult education. EPALE and eTwinning provide online communities that connect practitioners across countries, while ESHA, ATEE and AEDE foster professional dialogue among school leaders and teacher educators. EAEA represents the non-formal adult learning sector at European level, ensuring advocacy and coordinated action.
Policy development and strategic implementation are supported by the National Coordinators for the European Agenda for Adult Learning and by EBSN, which contributes to evidence-based policy, quality assurance and basic skills development.
Digital transformation and innovation are addressed through tools such as SELFIE, which helps schools reflect on and improve their digital capacity, and through EBSN’s professional development programmes that strengthen digital and inclusive teaching competences.
Electronic Platform for Adult Learning in Europe (EPALE)
EPALE, which stands for the Electronic Platform for Adult Learning in Europe, is a multilingual, online community for professionals in adult education, funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme.
