To support a consistent and positive learning experience for all students, we ask our Khalsa School teachers to follow the guidelines below. These practices help ensure smooth coordination, strong communication with parents, and high-quality instruction rooted in Sikhi values.
Please send weekly homework and class updates to parents no later than Tuesday following each class session.
All lesson materials, worksheets, or supporting artifacts used in class should be shared with the Khalsa School Admin Team for documentation and future reference.
Teachers are asked to review the Divan Participation Guidelines and ensure that students are adequately prepared—whether for kirtan, paath, or other seva.
Homework should be:
Limited to no more than 30 minutes per week
Shared with parents via email and/or Google classroom
Please keep assignments manageable and supportive of student learning.
Special projects are highly encouraged!
If you plan to introduce one, please share:
A brief description of the project
Goals and learning outcomes
Any supporting materials
This ensures alignment and allows Admins to provide support if needed.
Please keep your co-teacher always informed.
If you are unable to attend class:
Notify your co-teacher as early as possible
Provide them with a plan for the session
If you are unable to reach your co-teacher, escalate to the Khalsa School Admins
If a student is absent regularly or shows disengagement:
Please reach out to the parents directly
If the issue continues, inform the Khalsa School Admins so they can assist
