At the New England Sikh Study Circle, our Khalsa School is committed to nurturing the next generation in the spirit of Sikhi. We try our level best to partner closely with parents to create an environment where every child can grow spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally guided by the teachings of the Gurus.
Our goal is simple: to give our children the knowledge, values, and skills they need to live as confident, compassionate Sikhs in today’s world.
Strengthen Gurmukhi Literacy
We provide a strong foundation in reading and understanding Gurmukhi so students can confidently connect with Gurbani on their own.
Inspire Love for Sikh History & Principles
Students gain exposure to Sikh history, core values, and teachings that help them embody the spirit of the Khalsa.
Teach Gurmat Sangeet in the Guru’s Tradition
We preserve and promote traditional Gurmat Sangeet, allowing students to sing Shabads with devotion, accuracy, and understanding.
Build Confidence and Life Skills
Through presentations in the sangat and classroom activities, students develop:
Public speaking skills
Leadership and teamwork
Creative thinking
Practical skills
These are abilities they can carry into school, career, and community life.
A student completing the New England Khalsa School should be able to:
Read and understand Gurbani from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji
Sing Shabads with proper pronunciation and in traditional Gurmat Sangeet style
Understand Sikh values and important aspects of Sikh history and heritage
Demonstrate a character rooted in humility, seva, courage, and compassion
Show confidence in public speaking, collaboration, and creative expression
As our students grow and step into high school, university, and eventually their professional lives, we hope they become strong Sikh ambassadors—individuals who:
Carry their Sikh identity with grace and confidence
Represent the teachings of the Gurus through their actions and conduct
Share Sikh principles of equality, service, and justice with the world
Build bridges of understanding in diverse academic and workplace environments
Stand as positive role models for the wider community
Our vision is to raise children who not only learn Sikhi but also live Sikhi—serving humanity, promoting unity, and reflecting the light of the Guru wherever they go
