Renew Your Dog's License Today

Did you get a puppy for Christmas? Recently adopt a senior pet from a shelter? It's the law in Pennsylvania for all dogs three months and older to have a current license. The cost of a license is less than the penalty for being caught without one (up to $300 for each unlicensed dog). A license is also helpful identification if your dog gets lost.

There are 3 different ways to renew an annual dog license:

  • Apply online at www.PADogLicense.com using the renewal ID; or

  • Mail the paper application, which appears on the county's website [www.dauphincounty.org], to the Dauphin County Treasurer; or

  • Purchase a license at an authorized licensing agent in your area.

Call the Dauphin County Treasurer Janis Creason's Office at 717-780-6550 or e-mail license@dauphinc.org if you have any question about dog licensing.

Commissioners Expand Services for Senior Citizens Thanks to Cost-Saving Initiative

Since December 2014, food for the county's Meals on Wheels program has been prepared by Nutrition Group Inc., generating $300,000 in annual savings that the Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging is using to meet increasing needs. Seniors have noted that meals are better than ever, now.

Two additional investigators have been hired to deal with increases in mainly financial crimes against seniors and the number of meals delivered to home-bound seniors as well as to senior centers has increased.

To request home delivered meals, or learn how you can become a volunteer, call 780-6130.
