Opening A File

In Bambu Stuio, switch to the "Prepare" view and click the icon with the plus sign to add your file.  .stl files are the preferred file format.

Modifying A File in Bambu Studio

In "Prepare" view and with your object selected, the top menu has tools for modifying the file.  The primary ones you will use will be

Scaling

Adjust the size of your print by using the 'Scaling' tool.  Be sure to keep "Uniform Scaling" checked to ensure the print changes proportionally.  Set a specific height, length or width OR change the percentage. For example, you could change 100% to 50% to print at half the original size.  The size of the file will depend entirely on the design.  Some may be very big and some may be very small.

Rotating

You likely will not need to use this one often. The designer of the file has probably already oriented it in the best way for printing. In general, you want to have the largest, flattest surface of the object touching the build plate for a successful print.

Print Settings

Layer height can be adjusted for thinner or thicker layers.  0.2 mm is the default and standard for most prints.  You can adjust this measurement in multiples of four between 0.08mm and 0.28mm.

Supports are needed if any part of your object has an overhang.  The software will alert you if you go to print and it thinks supports are needed.

Enable supports from the "Prepare" view under the support tab from the left sidebar.  If your shape is organic (i.e. figurine) the 'tree (auto)' selection will do better.  For big objects or for more geometric shapes, 'normal (auto)' is the good selection.

Slice Plate / Print Time in Bambu Studio

Bambu Studio will give you a estimate of how long your object will take to print with the settings you have selected.

From the "Prepare" view, click 'Slice plate' from the top menu.

Important! Please make sure your print will finishing by the end of your appointment.  If you need to reduce the print time, either make the object smaller and/or change the print settings.

Starting & Stopping a Print

Start a print from the 'Prepare' view by clicking the 'Print Plate' button.  You will need to have sliced the plate prior to printing.  You can monitor the print, pause or cancel from the 'Device' view.
