Region X
We are so glad you stopped by to visit. We are a young chapter located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Cleveland County, NC. Our members support educators and students in Kings Mountain and Shelby, NC, as well as, surrounding areas.
Several of our Delta Tau Chapter Members gathered together at a recent meeting in Shelby, NC. We are a smaller chapter but we're a mighty powerful one! Overall, 20 active members and 4 reserve members of Delta Tau have given 283 years and 165 years respectively to service in DKG. That's a total of 448 years of DKG involvement! This is not surprising because this group of ladies is talented, hard-working and outstanding educators. We appreciate you all!
At our most recent Delta Tau Chapter meeting, member Connie Savell conducted the program and shared pertinent information with chapter members about the DKG organization and also about Membership in Delta Kappa Gamma. Also at this meeting Immediate Past President Stephanie Hinson recognized our present Chapter President Patty Smith with her President's pin.
Blessing Bags
for the Homeless
Delta Tau Chapter has chosen a service project for November. It is to make blessing bags for the homeless to share with Teresa Wingo, a KM citizen who has a Homeless ministry in Cleveland, Gaston, and Mecklenburg Counties. The goal is to make at least 10 plastic gallon bags of blessing goodies from the suggested items listed below.
Connie will provide the plastic gallon bags and Bendatra has volunteered to put everything together for us. If everyone would purchase a pair of warm socks and gloves that would be nice. Please sign up with Connie for the items you plan to bring to the November 18th, 2024 social at Toscano’s Restaurant in Shelby. Thanks in advance ladies for your generosity in helping the homeless in our surrounding area through our chapter service project.
