Our Chapter's Beginning
Our Delta Tau Chapter is one of the youngest chapters in NC. It was formed when seven members of Beta Epsilon in Lincoln County felt the need to begin a new chapter in Cleveland County to encourage and support women educators here. On Sunday August 21, 2011 the Chartering Ceremony for Delta Tau Chapter was held. It was conducted at Boyce Memorial ARP Church in Kings Mountain, NC. Twenty-eight outstanding women were invited and initiated into this new chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma. Three members from the Beta Epsilon Chapter, Peggy Baird, Betty Gamble, and Lori Sutherland, transferred their membership on the day of Chartering giving us a total of thirty-one members. The election and installation of Delta Tau Officers was held after the ceremony. Serving as President ~ Connie Phifer Savell, Vice President ~ Heather Self, Secretary ~ Martha Hill, Treasurer ~ Hilda Leonard, and serving as Co-Parliamentarians ~ Linda Hopper and Linda Dixon.
