1) We started the project before our school had computers. We hand-wrote each letter. We did not each write one letter and photocopy that letter. We made sure each letter we sent was hand written. Students drew scenes on a sheet of paper and our teacher photocopied the scenes onto colored paper that we used.
2) When our school received computers, and we had a computer lab, we typed our letters in the lab. Students drew pictures of ships, airplanes, and helicopters, which our teacher used as templates for our letters. We could choose the template we wanted, and we customized our letters.
