Chief Emily Robinson
Chief Legalman Emily Taylor Robinson is a native of Ashland, Kentucky. After graduating high school, she joined the United States Navy in June of 2005. She completed basic training in Great Lakes, Illinois, followed by Master-at-Arms “A” School in San Antonio, Texas.
Her first assignment was with the Naval Expeditionary Guard Battalion in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, in support of detainee operations during Operation Enduring Freedom. There, she served as Detainee Escort and Block Sergeant, and received her first Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
Chief Robinson reported to Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan, in 2006, where she qualified as Gate Sentry, Patrolman, and Desk Sergeant, and advanced to Second Class Petty Officer. Selected to convert to Legalman, she reported to Legalman “A” School in 2009, and graduated with honors.
From there, she reported to Region Legal Service Office Southwest in San Diego. Chief Robinson served as Trial and Command Services Leading Petty Officer. During this tour, she was awarded Sailor of the Quarter, advanced to First Class Petty Officer, and received a second Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
Chief Robinson’s next two assignments included Naval Mobile Construction Battalion ONE, as Command Legalman, and Defense Service Office North in Naples, Italy. As Command Legalman, she earned her Seabee Combat Warfare qualification. While assigned to Defense Service Office North, she had the opportunity to lead three separate overseas legal detachments. Chief Robinson was named Sailor of the Year, awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and advanced to Chief Petty Officer.
Chief Robinson’s final assignment in her enlisted career was aboard USS GEORGE H. W. BUSH (CVN 77), where she spent three years qualifying in Surface and Aviation Warfare. Chief Robinson currently serves as the Command Legalman for Naval Construction Group TWO.
Chief Robinson is an experienced legal advisor and a warfare-qualified leader. Her professional experience is diverse throughout the Navy, and she is especially focused on the mentorship of Sailors and maintaining mission readiness throughout the fleet.
