Taiwan YES! 2026 — What a Celebration!
Three Thousand Visitors. One Very Taiwanese Day. 🇹🇼
What a day!
From early morning, Bridgewater Commons Mall was buzzing with people, music, drums, laughter, and the unmistakable energy of Taiwan. Visitors came from near and far, and even some who happened to drive past the yellow Taiwan YES! tents saw the crowds and turned around to join the celebration.
And there was plenty to keep everyone there.
Taiwanese music and dance filled the air. Authentic Taiwanese food drew long lines. Traditional games, calligraphy, crafts, and cultural activities brought out smiles and curiosity. More than 3,000 visitors came to experience a little taste of Taiwan right here in New Jersey.
For NATWA-NJ, this year's Taiwan YES! had a special meaning.
As part of our Bridging Generations (世代同歡) Project, we hosted a booth and invited visitors to participate in our Generations Survey. One of the happiest sights of the day was seeing families arrive together—sometimes three generations under one roof, enjoying the same celebration.
At our booth, visitors explored activities ranging from Fun Chinese Learning, Diabolo (扯鈴), Chinese calligraphy bookmarks, i 僑卡 benefits, and the Bridging Generations Survey, along with Taiwan YES!'s delicious combination of Taiwanese food and Traditional Mandarin language (台灣華語) learning.
And the day brought some wonderful results.
We received 90 additional survey responses, giving us even more voices to listen to as we continue learning about the experiences, perspectives, and connections within our Taiwanese American community.
Many visitors were also fascinated by the two Taiwanese-themed puzzles displayed at our booth. Several scanned the QR code to find out where they could purchase them.
Even more encouraging were the conversations about Bridging Generations itself. Some visitors wanted to learn more about the project, asked where they could find information about upcoming events, and wondered how they could participate. A couple of visitors even left their contact information because they wanted to become involved with NATWA-NJ.
It was a busy, joyful, very Taiwanese day—and for us, it was also a reminder of what community can look like when people of different ages and backgrounds come together.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared a smile, completed our survey, asked a question, or simply came to celebrate Taiwan with us.
We had a wonderful time at Taiwan YES! 2026.
We hope to see you again soon—at another Taiwanese American community event, and perhaps at one of our Bridging Generations gatherings! ❤️

More Than a Night Market
Taiwan YES! is more than just a festival of food, music, and fun.
It is a place where we get to know Taiwan, get to know one another, and strengthen the connections that make our community.
For Bridging Generations, this is what makes Taiwan YES! especially meaningful.
Culture comes alive when we experience it together—when grandparents, parents, children, friends, and neighbors share a meal, play a game, listen to music, learn something new, and create memories together.
Come with your family and friends. Taste Taiwan. Celebrate Taiwan. And connect with one another.
We can't wait to see you at Taiwan YES! on August 30!
