Gazebo Houses: The park features several "Gazebos" (decorative rest shelters) where groups can sit, keep their belongings, and enjoy their meals in the shade.
Dedicated Sitting Areas: There is a Public Sitting Hall and various stone/wooden benches throughout the gardens (Rose Garden, Flower Garden).
Water Access: Being located next to a calm dam/lake, many groups prefer to picnic near the water's edge to enjoy the cool breeze.
Children’s Play Area: A colorful Children’s Park is available nearby, making it easy for parents to keep kids entertained while they relax.
Entry Fee: Usually between ₹10 – ₹20 per person.
Picnic Spot Booking: While small groups can sit in open areas for free (after the entry ticket), booking a specific large picnic spot or gazebo can range from ₹100 to ₹500 depending on the size and location.
Season: October to March is the peak picnic season. The weather is cool, and the flower gardens are in full bloom.
Peak Day: January 8th (and the surrounding week) is the busiest time due to the grand Magh Mela and annual fair.
Time of Day: Arriving by 10:00 AM is recommended to secure a good spot. You can finish your meal by 2:00 PM and spend the afternoon boating (Noka Bihar) or trekking the hill.
If the main park is too crowded, locals often head to the Beherakuri Dam (approx. 8–9 km away in Bhandar Kola). It is a more "raw" and quiet natural spot, popular for traditional wood-fire cooking picnics.
Cleanliness: As a "Nature Park" managed by the Forest Department, you are expected to dispose of all waste (plates, plastic) in dustbins.
Cooking: Check at the gate if open-fire cooking is allowed inside the main garden areas; often, pre-cooked food is preferred inside the landscaped zones to protect the plants.
