The park is designed to be a "Green Lung" for the Jamtara district. It features:
The Medicinal Garden: A dedicated area growing traditional herbs and plants used in local tribal medicine.
Rose & Seasonal Flowers: Thousands of flowering plants that change with the seasons, creating a colorful landscape.
Grassland Park: Large open green spaces that allow the soil to breathe and provide a natural habitat for local birds and insects.
Unlike flat city parks, this is a Hill Park.
Rocky Formations: The hill consists of ancient rock formations typical of the Chota Nagpur Plateau.
Trekking Trails: Natural pathways have been carved out to allow visitors to hike to the top while surrounded by native trees.
Panoramic Views: From the summit, you get a 360-degree view of the lush green canopy of the Nala block and the winding rivers nearby.
The presence of a natural water body/dam at the foot of the hill adds a cooling effect to the environment:
Aquatic Life: The lake supports local fish and attracts migratory birds during the winter months.
Climate Control: The water and the dense tree cover make the park significantly cooler (by 2°C to 3°C) than the surrounding urban areas of Jamtara.
To protect the "Natural Environment," the park follows specific green rules:
Plastic-Free Zone: Visitors are encouraged not to bring single-use plastics to keep the hill clean.
Solar Lighting: Much of the park’s evening lighting is powered by solar energy to reduce the carbon footprint.
Natural Gazebos: Resting areas are built using materials that blend into the forest-like setting.
"Our mission is to ensure that development never comes at the cost of nature. We strive to maintain the pristine beauty of Malancha Hill so that future generations can breathe fresh air and witness the glory of Jharkhand’s natural heritage."
Since it is a Natural Environment, the weather is best during the Golden Hour (Sunrise or Sunset). The view of the sun setting behind the hill while you are in a boat (Noka Bihar) is considered the most beautiful experience in the park.
