THE 'SUPER STRAIGHT' MOVEMENT - GEN Z OPPOSITION TO LEFTIST GENDER IDEOLOGY
With the left's ongoing push to indoctrinate our nation’s children into the radical transgender ideology seeking to end the importance of biological sex and the gender norms of femininity and masculinity, new hope for the younger generations has come in the form of the super straight movement. This movement propagates the idea that being attracted only to people of the opposite sex is not shameful and is a valid sexual identity. Those in this movement also see a difference between people of the opposite gender and those who only identify with it, only seeking relationships with the former.
Unsurprisingly, big tech and the widely indoctrinated youth have organized immense pushback on the members of this movement and their values. Reddit got rid of the r/superstraight subreddit claiming that it was “promoting hate towards a marginalized or vulnerable group” and “had become increasingly exclusionary with hateful content.” TikTok, where the movement first gained traction, also cracked down on the group by blocking the #SuperStraight hashtag as well as banning its originator, Kyle Royce. A representative for the company claimed that the posts were against their community guidelines due to the fact that they “do not tolerate hate speech or hateful ideologies.”
Despite this resistance to the ideology demonizing normalcy about sex and gender, the future of America seems increasingly LGBT+. According to a new Gallup poll, nearly 16% of Generation Z adults between the ages of 18 and 23 identify as LGBT. This is a drastic increase from the 9.1% of millennials who identify as LGBT. Although it seems the indoctrination of young people have convinced many of the sexism of gender norms and triviality of sex, Gen Z is about evenly split on the specific issue of transgender athletes in sports, and the country overall would support a ban on men competing in women’s competition.
So, with the elite’s opposition to the super straight movement in the form of deplatforming and claims of transphobia and hatefulness, how should conservatives go about reaffirming the traditional role of gender in society and importance of sex in our culture? Most importantly, we can not apologize and give in to the ideology in any way or let their radical agenda gain ground and support. When we go far out of our way to avoid offending people by saying things like “biological” men or women or are afraid to speak our mind in fear of being called transphobic, we let the gender ideology march on. We grant the notion that there really is no connection between biology and behavior or men and women without even realizing it. This failure to reject the ideas allows their movement to become increasingly hostile, as we see in the opposition to the super straight movement and demonization of what has been the societal normal for millennia. We must outwardly oppose the abolition of our culture which serves the natural order not through hate or cowardice, but with courage and conversation. We must take back our culture.
