She has been honored by the Women's Entrepreneurial Association of Nepal for the promotion of tourism in Nepal. She was given the "Woman Entrepreneur of the Year" award for 2001 by the Women's Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Sri Lan of the SAARC Women's Entrepreneur Council in Sri Lanka. SAARC is the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, established in 1985 to promote cooperation in the development of its member states: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India. 1933 - Joined the Nepalese Army
1940 - Commanded the Mahendra Dal Battalion of the Nepalese Army sent in aid of the Allied Forces in the North-West Frontier and the Eastern Active Service Area in India. For his praiseworthy service he was “mentioned in the dispatches”.
1943 - Promoted to the rank of Major General and decorated with the Order of Nepal Tara (2nd Class). Sent as Liaison Officer to the Eastern Command and the 14th Army in India. On return of the troops in 1948 awarded a high military decoration – Nepal Pratap Vardhak – by the Government of Nepal and K.B.E. by the British Government.

1946/1950 - Beside the military he also served in other spheres – Director General of Health, Transport and Communications and the Royal Mint. Also served as Chief Justice for a brief period.
1950 - During the insurgency in Nepal lead a Peace Mission to the Eastern parts and in recognition of his services was appointed Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Nepalese Army. In recognition of his good services he was awarded the most refulgent order of Nepal Supradipta Manyabara Nepal Tara (1st Class).
1951 - Appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Nepalese Army at the age of 35. Reorganized the Royal Nepalese Army. Awarded with the order of Trishakti-Patta (1st Class).
1952 - During the reign of His Majesty King Tribhuvan appointed as A.D.C. General to the king and decorated with the order of Suprasiddha Prabal Gorkha Dakshin Bahu (1st Class).
1954/1955 - Served as Vice President in the Coronation Committee of His Majesty King Mahendra
1955 - As C-in-C went on official visit to Malaya at the invitation of Commander-in-Chief, Far Eastern Command (Land Forces) of the British Army and inspected the Gurkha regiments stationed there.
1956 - Retired from the Army. Appointed Minister of State for Planning and Development in the cabinet of Prime Minister Tanka Prashad Acharya.
1957 - Appointed Vice President of the 1st Planning Commission under the chairmanship of H.R.H. Prince Himalaya B. B. Shah.
1963 - Appointed member of Raj Sabha
