The information on when to arrive on campus to join your course is sent when you complete your online self enrolment. If you have not completed the self enrolment or you have not received the specific information, please make inquiry by sending an email to maritime@cityofglasgowcollege.ac.uk and don't forget to mention in the email which course you are joining so we can provide specific assistance.

Please make note that your Curriculum Head may require you to attend your course on some of the holidays. This information is communicated to you well in advance.
Canvas is COGC's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) where you will find all the necessary learning and teaching resources required to successfully complete your course.
At the induction session you will be given a comprehensive tour of the Canvas platform and instructed how to use it.
If you are unable to access Canvas at any point please let your lecturer or Curriculum Head know of this; they will assist you in gaining access.
Riverside Campus has a car park but this is for use by staff and college guests.
If you are driving to college, you may find street parking in the Gorbals area or paid parking at Glasgow Central Mosque, parking is not available at the mosque on Fridays.
When using street parking in the Gorbals, we request you to please be considerate towards the residents and not park in the bays assigned for 'Resident Only'.
Student cards give access to buildings on the college campus, access to the library and can be used for student discounts. You will be issued your student card when you attend the college and should receive an email once your student card is ready for collection from the 5th floor reception.
Students are expected to:
Behave in a way which respects the needs and aspirations of others to learn, teach and live within the community of the College when using any of the College facilities (including work placements and external activities).
Be punctual, attend all sessions required by their course timetable and undertake all associated work.
Understand and adhere to College rules, regulations and policies.
Familiarise themselves with the College’s Health and Safety regulations, comply with those regulations and act at all times with regard for their own safety and that of others.
Respect the property of the College, its staff, other students and visitors complying with the College’s diversity, equality, and inclusion requirements.
Support staff and other students in the maintenance of a clean and tidy environment throughout the College.
Follow the reasonable instructions of any member of College Staff.
The following are examples of misconduct which may result in disciplinary action being taken against students. The list is not exhaustive:
Any breach of any of the students’ obligations set out above (any breach of Health and Safety or other regulations of the College).
Any failure to follow the reasonable instructions of a member of staff (Failure to follow reasonable instructions may result in a student’s removal from College premises).
Any smoking on College premises (inside buildings, in undesignated smoking areas, or any property owned or operated by the College not designated for smoking).
Any cheating, plagiarism or copying of the work of other students.
Any aggressive behaviour or the use of foul or abusive language.
Deliberately or by gross negligence causing damage to any College buildings, equipment, books or furnishings or any property of others.
Participating in, or willingly permitting, unauthorised interference with software or data belonging to or used by the College.
Any theft of property or any other dishonest acts.
Any breach of sponsoring company drug and alcohol policy while on College premises or while engaging in activity associated with the College (eg work experience, college trips).
The use, possession, supply, or intent to supply, of any controlled substance or alcoholic beverage.
Any bullying, intimidation, taunting, verbal abuse or the use of any violence or threat of violence towards any person.
Any behaviour which is racially or sexually offensive or which is offensive to those with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
Any behaviour which could bring the College into repetitional disrepute.
Any illegal act which may have an adverse effect on the work or reputation of the College, other students, staff or visitors.
You are required to have been fully enrolled before you maybe able to gain college's WiFi.
College WiFi is available on every WiFi compatible device
Look in your WiFi settings
Select the wireless network eduroam
Enter the same username (identity) and password that you use for MyCity, followed by @cogc.ac.uk at the end of your username

Password: Your MyCity password
If you are prompted with a QuoVadis security certificate, you must accept or trust this certificate to proceed. Once you have successfully authenticated for the first time, you will be automatically connected to all eduroam networks.
While attending the engineering workshop, you must have the following PPEs on:
Overalls
Safety boots
Safety glasses
If you arrive for a workshop class without the appropriate PPE, you will be asked to leave and return when you have correct PPEs on you.
Overalls and safety boots are provided to students by their sponsor company. In some cases the sponsor company also provides the safety glasses. However, if required safety glasses can be obtained from the Engineering Workshops Store which is located at the entrance of the workshop.
