The Napa High School thespian troupe is a part of the International Thespian Society, an international honor society for theater students. Students must earn 10 points (100 hours of quality theatre work) to be inducted. Points are earned by participating in and contributing to Napa High's theatrical productions. Each star denotes an additional 10 points (100 hours). Honor Thespian is earned after 60 points (600 hours of quality theatre work). National Honor Thespian is earned after 120 points (1200 hours of quality theatre work).

Mrs. Profitt has produced over 25 plays and musicals at Napa High School, including The Dancing Princesses, The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Three Musketeers, Anastasia, Saint Joan, Ozma of Oz, Bleak House, Clue, Camelot, Electra, Narnia, The Lantern in the Dark, Hamlet, Wuthering Heights, The Secret Garden, The Red Knight, Radium Girls, The Tempest, Frankenstein, The Princess and the Goblin, The Sound of Music, Alice in Wonderland, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Eurydice, Dreamlandia, Andromache, Little Women, Shuddersome, Cinderella, Twelfth Night, A Tale of Two Cities, and A Comedy of Terrible Errors. Prior to teaching at Napa High School, Mrs. Profitt produced plays and musicals at River School and Stone Bridge School, including The Wizard of Oz, Into the Woods JR., Peter Pan JR., Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka, Narnia the Musical, The Music Man JR., The Phantom Tollbooth JR., and Oz!.

Outside Napa High, Emily has directed Willy Wonka JR. at Sunnyvale Community Players and The Wizard of Oz and Into the Woods JR. at River School.
