Mixed Pairs Tournament at Aylsham on the 8th June
Above are photographs from The Mixed Pairs Tournament held at Aylsham Bowls Club on the 8th June.
30 blocks entered and it was an enjoyable afternoon despite the rather blustery weather and the occasional shower of rain. The Club provided a great choice of items for afternoon tea and the raffle was well supported with a wide choice of prizes provided by the visiting teams. (Please note that some prizes had already been collected when this picture was taken.)
The league was represented by blocks entering from Aylsham, Buxton, Holt, Mundesley, Felmingham, Suffield Park, West Runton, Sheringham Morley, Overstrand and Cawston. Three non league clubs also entered teams. This is the largest turnout for a tournament for many years and thanks must go to Vince Lachowycz and his team of helpers for the excellent organisation.

The weather forecast in the week running up to the tournament was for a fine, dry afternoon with a temperature of 24 degrees. How could the met. office get it so wrong? The afternoon was cloudy and distinctly damp.
