Before an initial eligibility meeting, an invitation must be sent to the parent.
The meeting MUST be held before the 60th day of consent.
A CLUE teacher will know when the evaluation is complete because they will receive an email from the CLUE Office notifying them that the Gifted Grid has been uploaded.
The invitation MUST be sent 10 days in advance. In fact, some CLUE teachers send the invitation for the eligibility meeting after consent is received from the parent to ensure the parent has enough notice to keep the file in compliance.
If the invitation is sent less than 10 days before the meeting, the parent MUST mark on the invitation that they waive the 10-day notice of a meeting.
The purpose of the meeting is: (Mark these two reasons and NOTHING ELSE!)
To review the results of the initial evaluation/reevaluation and determine eligibility for special education and related services.
To consider educational placement (includes a change in educational placement, graduation and termination of eligibility).
