In 1987, I was airlifted from my ship with a cardiac crisis at the age of forty-one. I was diagnosed with four incurable diseases: ischemic heart disease, hypertension, diabetes and mitral valve prolapse. The prognosis was that I might not live beyond the age of fifty. Recuperating my health and rebuilding my life was a transformational experience that kindled my interest in the science and art of wellbeing. I am now 79 and enjoy excellent, drug-free health and wellbeing,
I was again admitted in hospital in 2003 with severe backache. The medical opinion was that I might not walk again. It was the fourth major illness in my life. While lying in the hospital bed, I wondered if life had more to offer than what I was engaged with. I decided to quit my professional career and explore the meaning of life. It took four years to quit my job. In 2007, I started living in Auroville (an international township for Human Unity, meant to belong to the whole of humanity) as a volunteer. I found the purpose of my life in sharing what helped me to regain my wellbeing and thrive in my life. Apart from offering various events on wellbeing, I conceived and designed the ICITI project that resulted in the city-wide integrated fiber optic network in Auroville, creating a new window for Auroville 'to belong to the whole of Humanity'.
I had a successful professional career of over 37 years that spanned various roles in the Indian Navy, tech industry and academia. I held top R&D Management positions: Director of R&D (D-Link India), Joint Chief Program Executive (CRISP, IISc), Vice President (Cirrus Logic India), GM R&D (BPL Telecom) and led teams that developed successful as well as award-winning information and communication technology products.
Prior to my career in the industry, I served in the Indian Navy for 21 years. I was one of the very young officers to receive the Visisht Seva Medal from the President of India for distinguished service. I am also a recipient of Jain Memorial Gold Medal from the Chief of Naval Staff for innovative design. My contributions, being critical to the success of indigenous warship building program, was covered in The History of the Indian Navy. I left the Navy in 1991 in the rank of Captain to pursue my interest in research and development. Please click here for details of my professional career.

It was awarded AMBA certificate of commendation under the Innovation category in 2019. More than ten thousand people participated in my programs across Asia, Europe and the USA.

I qualified in the certificate programs of University of Pennsylvania "Foundations of Positive Psychology Specialization" course, Yale University "Science of wellbeing" course and Harvard Medical School "Cognitive Fitness" course, and "Improving Your Memory" course. My newfound hobby is writing. I self-published my debut novel Roots & Wings on Amazon worldwide. I would be happy to offer assistance to aspiring authors to self-publish. I am currently writing my second novel, 'Guts &Glory'.
