Today has been a interesting day... talk about major historical events.
Isn't it so strange that, once you're convicted of a felony, you can no longer vote, but you can still run for president?
Anyways, back to the more interesting topic–vinyl.
For the first time in probably forever, I have a remaining grand total of two pre-orders. The 10th anniversary boxset for The Last of Us, and the GUTS (spilled) deluxe 2xLP. Both are so different from each other but I can't quite decide on which one I'm more excited for.
I've let all of my orders arrive and settle, which is so weird. That's not to say I'm not appreciative: I love to look and just hold my signed The Tortured Poets Department CD so much I'm scared I'll somehow break it.
I'm expecting my we can't be friends 7" single to arrive any day now, but unfortunately I won't be able to open it until next week at the earliest, so I've elected to put a hold on my mail so that I don't have to worry about it. This is the first time I've ever done so, so this should be interesting.
Today was my reddit 'cake day', most of which I spent on the moral high ground against a, I assume, middle aged white man who knew everything there was to be about fake / bootleg vinyl, all of which he got wrong in the end. The moral of the story? Listen to the obsessed swiftie who spends their free time researching the niche manufacturing information that helps people determine the differences between original pressings, reissues, and repressings.
For those wondering: it was a debate regarding the authenticity of a 'Orange Rep' on Facebook marketplace. No, it was not real–I easily noticed this when I spotted the matte and solid orange texture of the orange hype sticker and the abnormally designed and shaped barcode sticker on the rear cover. Take it from someone with a real Orange Rep, I know what I'm talking about.
My suspicions were confirmed when another reddit user met up with the seller and opened the vinyl on-site to reveal two picture disc vinyl.
Yikes. At least I stopped the OP from having to deal with that nightmare.
Today was also spent commissioning and finishing up a new 7" single replica jacket; this time it was for Sabrina Carpenter's 2023 Nonsense / A Nonsense Christmas. This one was surprisingly more fun than expected, and I opted to fully recreate every single graphic instead of using photographs of the original. Typing is hard.
