When I returned to my apartment this past week, many things happened immediately afterwards.
I opened up my Omar Apollo signed vinyl package and it was slightly damaged and the vinyl was warped. Womp womp.
Then I opened up my Frank Ocean blonde vinyl and it was scratched on the front cover as well as sealed with a wood chip inside? I fought with Blonded customer support and all they gave me was a 20% discount.
So that sums up the beginning to a rough week! I'm currently battling a cold as we speak, too.
My Conan Gray Sunset Season and Lana Del Rey Paradise vinyl both came in from Walmart, and the great news is that they were absolutely perfect! Someone in the universe felt bad for me, I guess. That was a well needed win.
Last week I missed out on Troye's signed Pink STGEO but the good news is that I snagged a restock from recordstore.co.uk. Which means I can finally replace that stupid messed up booklet from my US copy! This also means that I finally have a hype sticker for this release. Now that I can replace my US copy with an EU copy, I think it's morally okay for me to try and trade my initial-drop one for a white or clear Bloom, right?
I know we all hate people who get stuff in restocks and then go on to sell them BUT in this instance I actually bought the one I'm getting rid of in the original drop so I think I'm able to take advantage of the market value. Maybe...?
It's been a crazy month of orders, and I recognize that I am recklessly spending money. But, in my defense, I haven't bought a Taylor RSD in a while so it could be worse. Most recently, I caved and bought the cardigan picture disc with the help of a friend in the FB groups. She's a real one for that, LOL. I think I'll just girl math my way out of this and work some extra shifts to work the cost back down to ~$100.
Oh, and I totally frogot that I got the SOUR vinyl I traded for AGES ago. It's real! Shocker. The most stressful trade I've ever done. Worst yet, it ended up being pressed off-center. So I'm going to have to exchange it with a new one from Target one day. Shhhh.
I also pulled the trigger on shipping two Stick Season 7" singles from the UK to the states. One was originally supposed to be trade bait for Dial Drunk, but since I already got it I guess I'll just make someone's day by selling for face value. This is always fun to do. Kinda of a power move, too. Shipping was 9.99 pounds. Yikes.
And last but not least, I accidentally bought two copies of Dua Lipa's Future Nostalgia on Translucent Light Blue vinyl. One was from discogs after I thought a FB buy was going to fall through, but I ended up getting it and Billie Eilish's Don't Smile at Me for my sister. The half yellow and red split will make her happy, I'm sure. I guess I'll just hold onto whichever one is in the best condition and wait for the value to go up... maybe when Dua's new album comes out this year?
We'll have to wait and see! And preferably stop spending money until then.
Tomorrow I'm off to USPS to ship the 7" sleeves I've sold and to pick up some more. I'm going to start selling LDR sleeves for the picture discs! I keep making work for myself. Lol.
This is going to be a long week...

I missed the Troye Sivan's white edition of Bloom restock (of 200!) by five minutes. I'm literally devastated. In a world where they resell for over $100, I'm so sad I missed out on the chance to get it for retail. Come on!!!!!!
A few hours later, I missed his pink & signed edition of Something To Give Each Other restock by 20 minutes. I already have the vinyl but my copy came with a severely ripped booklet and it would've been nice to get a new copy with a mint booklet.
And MINUTES ago I just missed someone selling their copy of Lana Del Rey's Born To Die (Deluxe) for $20. It's my biggest LDR ISO and I missed it by a few minutes as well. I don't want to spend $45 on an import copy. But when I get my paycheck it seems like I will have to.
What in the actually world is going on???
The universe hates me.
The ONLY wins I were able to get today was Ariana Grande's yes, and? 7" clear single release and selling my 1989 (Taylor's Version) Vinyl Shelves. The 7" was limited to 10,000—and that's just in the US, by the way—so it was extremely easy to get anyways. It took me messaging six people to get those shelves sold. Why do people comment and then ghost right afterwards? Jeez.
Tomorrow I'm sealing the deal on a Canadian seller's copy of P!NK's The Truth About Love. I love that P!NK album. Side A has so many bops and I'm sure I'll enjoy the rest of the record.
I'll also probably buy the Born To Die (Deluxe) from Inner Sleeve. Someone kindly messaged me a link from JPC.de but it's $3 more expensive and I'm petty enough to go for Inner Sleeve so I can also earn Shop Cash. Also it's just easier to buy it domestically so I don't have to worry about international shipping. Besides, I'm tired of hearing the terrible off-center B-side of the Born To Die I already have.
So please, universe, let me have a few wins before I get back home to my apartment this weekend.

Only a few days into the year and it's been a busy week for vinyl.
Just after the New Year I received a copy of Bloom I bought from another collector. I was originally waiting to see if I could score the special edition variants instead of the black vinyl (as I avoid standard edition black whenever I can), but it was only $20 so I went ahead and grabbed it.
A few days after Christmas, I had bought a copy of Ariana Grande's Christmas and Chill and it arrived this past week; the only problem was that it was absolutely Covered in PVC stain marks because of the way it had been stored for five years. As a result, it was marred and ultimately affected the sound quality of the vinyl, so I reported it to her support team and they refunded me for the vinyl. Honestly? I'm okay with that.
On a trip to Target with my sister, she bought a copy of SZA's CTRL to use as decoration for her newly remodelled green themed bedroom. It's a really pretty transparent green vinyl. Interestingly, it was marketed as translucent but it's definitely transparent seeing as how I can see through it perfectly aside from the green tint.
Most recently, I went to a new Target closer to the city and I stumbled across a heavily discounted copy of Ed Sheeran's — (Subtract). It had been marked from 23.99 to 18.89, then to 12.99, and finally $7.79. Naturally, I snatched that right up. Talk about a retail win! 1/3 of the original price is insane. It had some light wear and tear from store shelf storage but I was okay with that.
Yesterday, my copy of Frank Ocean's Blonde was delivered, but to my apartment instead of the home I'm staying at. So I'll have to wait until I'm back next week before I'm able to spin that, sadly.
Also yesterday, I received several requests for my 'the lakes' replacement 7" sleeves so I can't wait to get home and fulfill those requests. Additionally, I was reached out by another collector with damaged ME! 7" single sleeves and they asked me to recreate them. After a few hours of overlay, font research, upscaling, logo searching, and manually typing out everything, I was finally able to complete those designs. Honestly, other than one really specific uppercase letter (spoiler alert: it's the thickness of the capital M), I think it's just about perfect and I'm so happy with how it looks.
I even made a third one this afternoon just because it was so fun to do. I'm not sure if I can recreate the standard artwork cover (the ME! with the flowers), but it sounds like an interesting challenge for me one day. For now: I'm sticking to what other's ask me to do, lol.
I updated the folklore in the trees chart and shared it with the FB group, and I also looked into looking for more evermore subvariants but they're so annoying to find, honestly.
Last but not least, I've been addressing some weird fake Orange Reputation posts. It looks like fake FYE hype stickers are going around. Hopefully that's not something to worry about?
