Mathematics Curriculum: Number & Algebra
Simplify:
Limit students to travelling around their town/city and exploring distance from/to places, or just their country.
Remove some of the criteria, and/or the monetary component.
Be the 'bus company' and charge students standard fares per kilometres travelled
Extend:
Work out the distance travelled on each leg of the trip & the total distance travelled
Explore currency & conversions (there are Chrome extensions for this)
Use Google Sheets to draw up a full itemised budget along with an itinerary
Use Google Sheets to record the relevant locations with additional/applicable information and then generate their My Map using the Sheet (check out this YouTube tutorial)
Explore the locations chosen by all class members (any similarities/differences?)
Add video content as a 'travel blogger' with a mathematical fact (be excited!)
