We are AtenEco: The Ateneo de Manila University Shell Eco-Marathon Team!"
"We are on our marks to raise the Philipine flag in the Shell Eco-Marathon competition; a competition that aims to propel aspiring engineers to create the most energy efficient vehicle.
Our team ventures to conquer this challenge in our united goal to help shape a brighter and more sustainable future."
According the their adviser, Prof. Carlos Oppus,
“The learning experience is something greater than what they learned in the classroom. It also affords visibility for the department. Even though we are an ECCE department, we can join competitions like this that are solely student-led. At the same time, there are a lot of lessons for the faculty. The students learn by doing the things they love.”
"Learn by doing things they love" is a departure from the traditional curriculum of defining the areas of learning.
Looking back at history, "servitude" is FADING in its being engraved in the growing spirit of Filipino students, in this field, at the Ateneo de Manila University.
