Other Food Resources

Food banks

You can get free food from your local food bank. Many are distributing fresh fruits and vegetables along with other items. To maintain social distancing, many food banks are doing drive-thru distributions.

2-1-1

You can dial 2-1-1 on your phone to be connected to a local resource hotline. You'll be connected to a live person who will be able to connect you to resources/programs you might be eligible for (including food, utility assistance, tax preparation, shelter, transportation, etc.). It's a free service, open 24/7.

WIC

WIC is an income-based program for infants, children under 5, and pregnant/breastfeeding/postpartum women. It provides money debit card, like EBT, to purchase specific foods. To apply for the program, you will need to do so in-person at a WIC office in your county. To make an appointment, call 1-888-WIC-WORKS or go in person to an office near you.

School meals

The Universal Food Program requires that public school districts and charter schools offer free breakfast and lunch to all students from preschool to K-12, no matter their family's financial situation.
