Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Grace and peace to you in this holy season of Christmas.
As the Church throughout the world celebrates the Nativity of the Lord, we rejoice together in the great mystery of our faith: “Today in the city of David a Savior has been born for you who is Christ and Lord” (Luke 2:11). With the angels and shepherds of Bethlehem, we proclaim with joy that “the Word became flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14).
In the birth of Jesus, God enters our human history—not in power or wealth, but in humility, tenderness, and love. In the Child laid in a manger, heaven touches earth, and hope is born anew for every generation. Christmas reveals to us a God who draws near, who walks with His people, and who shares fully in our human condition.
As pastor of the St. John of the Cross Cluster and the Christian Life Center, I wish to express my deep gratitude to you—our parishioners, families, elders, volunteers, deacons, and all who serve faithfully in our parishes and ministries. Like Saint Paul, I can truly say: “I give thanks to my God at every remembrance of you, because of your partnership in the Gospel” (Philippians 1:3–5). Your prayer, generosity, and commitment continue to build up the Body of Christ in our community.
As this year comes to an end, we acknowledge that it has been marked by both blessings and challenges. Many among us carry grief, uncertainty, or weariness in their hearts. Yet Christmas assures us that God is never distant from our suffering. He is Emmanuel—God with us (Matthew 1:23). Even more, He is Jesus—God who saves His people, for the angel said to Joseph: “You shall name Him Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21).
A newborn child is always a change-maker in a family that welcomes new life. The birth of Jesus is the ultimate turning point in human history. If Christ had not been born for us, how would the world look today? Where would we be? What would shape our lives, our values, our relationships, and our hope? Christmas invites us to reflect on how deeply Christ’s birth has transformed our lives and continues to give meaning to our journey of faith.
Even in times of affliction, the Lord Jesus strengthens His people. As Scripture reminds us, “godly sorrow produces repentance that leads to salvation and brings no regret” (2 Corinthians 7:10), and “we overflow with encouragement and joy in all our trials” (2 Corinthians 7:4). The Child born in Bethlehem enters both our joy and our suffering, transforming them with His redeeming love.
Throughout this season, the song of the angels resounds once more: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to those on whom His favor rests” (Luke 2:14). May this peace dwell in your hearts, your homes, and our parish communities. May Christ, born among us, renew our faith, deepen our charity, and strengthen our hope.
Thank you for your generosity, your prayers, your talents, and your faithful support of our parishes and ministries throughout the St. John of the Cross Cluster and at the Christian Life Center. Through your service, the Gospel continues to be proclaimed, lives are touched, and Christ is made present in our world.
As we celebrate this holy season and look forward to the New Year, may the light of Christ guide your steps, bless your families, and lead us together in faith.
With prayerful gratitude, I wish you and your loved ones a blessed Christmas and a joyful New Year.
Take it to God in prayer. Peace be with you.
Sincerely in Christ,
