Managing the sequence and generating the notecard

- Chapter : Recording a movement -

Managing the sequence

Two more buttons in the MvtRecorder menu enable you to act or query information on the current sequence.

Listing the steps

As one could expect, the List button causes the MvtRecorder to display a human-readable list of all the steps defined so far. This display is visible by the owner only.

Deleting a step

It is possible to delete the last step recorded from the list, by clicking the Del. Last button. This can currently be done only for the last step of the sequence. If this step was a movement (either smooth or immediate), then it is "undone", meaning that your object will go back to the position and orientation it used to have before this particular step was recorded.

Generating the notecard

When you have finished recording your sequence of steps, you can click the Finished button. This will cause the MvtRecorder to encode the sequence and output it in the local chat window (but visible by yourself only) as a number of lines.

You can then copy and paste these lines into a fresh new notecard ; just make sure you copy all of them and do not alter their contents.

You are free to name your notecard as you wish, so that you can have several sequences recorded into several notecards. Later, the player will be able to switch from one sequence to another when required. You can however name the notecard .movementconfig to use a very practical auto-load feature (discussed on this page).

Note that when copying the chat lines into the notecard, you can leave the chat headers as they will automatically be discarded by the player when reading the notecard. However, it is important that you do not alter the part between the *B* and *E* marks - the script would detect and report an error if you did.
