As implied in the scripting reference chapter, special care is taken in the script to deal with the situation where the object is picked up to inventory while it is in the middle of a playing sequence.

When the object is rezzed again from your inventory (or from a rezzer's inventory, for that matter), the sequence is automatically stopped in emergency (no "back to origin" occurs here) and the script signals it.

This is done because the starting point which was remembered at the start of the sequence is no longer valid. After all, the object may be in a totally different sim when it's out of inventory than when it was picked up.

Of course, playback of the sequence can be restarted normally by a calling script.
