MvtPlayer

A powerful system to move objects in Second Life®

Next chapter > Recording a movement

Welcome!

The MvtPlayer is a powerful system designed for Second Life® enthusiast users and creators that allows them to manage the motion of an object in a rather advanced way.

It is very versatile and integrates smoothly with any object, either as stand-alone or with other popular systems like AVSitter.

MvtPlayer is currently in version 2.2.

Where to get it?

The MvtPlayer is available at Oggy's Scripted Items marketplace store or in-world store.

Overview

With the MvtPlayer, you will be able to define one or several sequences of actions that may include:

  • smooth movement from one point to another, while optionally smoothly changing the object orientation, in a given lapse of time;

  • immediate movement from one point to another with optional orientation change;

  • a pause, expressed as a number of seconds;

  • sound playing;

  • plugin actions to have them perform a special action (saying something, starting an animesh animation, particles... whatever) or maybe wait for a plugin to send a signal;

You will also be able to specify if the sequence must be looped, and if the object must go back to its origin point at the end of the sequence.

The playback service is offered in terms of a scripting interface. This means that another script - that you may write or have someone develop - controls how and when a sequence is played exactly as you meant it: when the object is touched, for example, when a menu is activated, when someone sits on your object... You decide!

Of course, simple control scripts are provided so that the system is ready to use, but writing controlling scripts is easy. Facilities are offered too to extend the features with the help of "plugin" scripts.

Plus the latest version offers playback options: you can decide to rescale the movement, change its speed or define the sounds volume at playback time!
