What "Armed Regulation" is all about

Armed regulation drill consists of a team of 9 cadets who march with rifles, a guidon, and a commander who carries a sword. Cadets learn manual of arms (rifle movements) and compete at the regional level each year, with the opportunity to compete at the national level. This team displays confidence in their movements and the ability to display control of their rifles in order to make an impression on the judges.

The difference in "Armed Exhibition"

Armed exhibition is an advanced rifle team that diverges off of regulation. This team consists of cadets who are professional at handling their rifles and a team commander. These cadets go above and beyond the manual of arms and instead learn complex tricks with their rifles. The team comes up with a routine including spins, tosses, exchanges, and intricate sequences. These movements require precision, coordination, and practice to execute flawlessly.
