This project was about students working together in group to research and compare and contrast global communities and how the availability of technology impacts their daily lives. I chose Honduras and El Salvador as the countries to conduct my research on because these places are really close to my culture and part of parent's lives. I learned that both of these countries are in the process of being technologically advanced and their governments are pushing towards decreasing the digital divide between underprivileged communities.
I learned that different countries in the world all have different circumstances that affect the communities access to technology, which can really limit the number of opportunities offered to them. This project has allowed me to use my Word and PowerPoint skills to organize my research and learn more about the countries around us. Although I wasn't able to complete the partner portion, I think going through the CCBC database and library to find information and facts about these countries, helped me find reliable sources with valid information.
