Fundraisers

As previously mentioned, the robotics team lacked adequate funding. One reason was because no fundraisers were held. This year, however, multiple fundraisers will be held. Each one will, hopefully, allow for at least a $300 profit.

First Fundraiser: World's Finest Chocolate

Within days of robotics beginning for the year, the financier proposed selling World's Finest Chocolate as a fundraiser. Making a profit of $24 per box, $500 could easily be raised in a month. Although we planned to sell it ourselves and make a $24 profit per box, PTO attained the fundraiser first. However, after two weeks of compromising, PTO agreed to allow clubs to sell it for $20 of profit. While it wasn't a $24 profit per box, it was still a decent amount and better than nothing. Within a week and a half, 11 boxes had been attained with at least five sold.

Sports Tournaments

Our second most important fundraiser is the sports tournaments, consisting of basketball, soccer, and volleyball tournaments. While we are still seeking approval for the basketball tournament, we will be hoping to get around 75 participants. We will have 3v3's up until 7 points or a time limit. The whole basketball tournament should not take more than about 2.5 hours. The volleyball tournament will have 4v4's or 5v5's and up to a total of 30 participants. The soccer tournament details are still undetermined. All tournaments will take place in the gym and concessions will be sold. Participants will pay $5 to enter the tournament. There will be a first place prize of $30 and second place prize for $25 for the basketball tournament. The volleyball and soccer tournament prizes are undetermined. We will also be selling tickets for $1 beforehand and $2 at the door for students who would like to come cheer on, support, or watch the participants and the teams.

Gaming Tournament

Our third important fundraiser is the gaming tournament, consisting of a variety of games. While approval is still currently being sought, we hope to receive around 50 gamers. We want to hold three different games that will be held in different rooms. Hopefully, in total, the tournament should not last more than three hours. We will need a different bracket for each tournament, as well as an adult and student advisor for each room. Entrance will be $5 per game, however there will be a bundle pack available. It is unknown if concessions will be sold due to a mess being made and dealing with electronics. There will be a first place prize for each game of $20. If a single person wins more than one game, the prize will go to second place. If anyone would like to simply watch and not participate, they can pay $1 to watch the gamers in the tournament.
