Living in a bushland environment has a risk of bushfire and falling tree branches which has to be managed. The Vegetation and Tree management Policy has been developed to clarify the Community Association and Lot owners responsibilities. The Fuel Management Plan contains details on how the Community Association and Lot owners are to manage the bushfire risk on there land.
The Murrays Beach Evacuation Plan provides information on what to do in case of a bushfire and bushfire threat levels.
Trees cannot be pruned or removed in Murrays Beach without the permission of the Community Association and LMCC. The applications for tree pruning or removal is available at the Policy page..
It is considered that the Rural Fire Service 10/50 Code of Practice does not override this requirement. Further details on the 10/50 Code of Practice can be found by clicking the TAB below.
As part of the Community Associations duty of care, a tree assessment is undertaken every 5 years within 5 m of walking tracks, fire trails, roads and property adjacent to community land. The assessments can be found below.
