Professional Organizations for Writing Center Tutors and Leaders
The International Writing Center Association has over 1200 members and supports writing center professionals at all levels around the globe. There are three annual events:
Annual Conference (3-4 days, usually in October)
Collaborative (1 day mini-conference at the CCCC conference, usually in March)
Summer Institute (weeklong institute in summer for new writing center leaders, limited to 40-50 participants)
The organization also has two journals:
The Secondary School Writing Centers Association has an annual conference, journal, and resources for those working in writing centers in schools.
The National Conference on Peer Tutoring in Writing hosts an annual conference for peer tutors and writing center leaders.
The East Central Writing Centers Association is the regional conference for peer tutors and writing center leaders in Indiana. The annual conference is typically in April.
