VISUAL COMMUNICATION DESIGN (NEW MEDIA)
Hi there...
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Adrian, but you can call me Ad for short. By my blodline I'm pure from Kalimantan, but I was born here in Java, especially Cirebon. I'm at 4th semester majoring Visual Communication Design (New Media) in BINUS Bandung but now I'm on a mobility program so now I'm at BINUS Kemanggisan Jakarta. Snd "Approaches in Multimodal Storytelling" is one of my courses this semester. I'll briefly explain the background of our project's theme and my role within the group. In this section, I’d like to explain what my submission is about, why I chose this particular topic, and who my intended audience is.
This project is part of our group’s assignment, where we were given the freedom to explore a fictional or speculative phenomenon and present it as if it were real. After some discussion with my team, we finally came to an agreement, we would focus on something that is both imaginative and widely recognized in internet culture the SCP Foundation.
If you're part of this generation, chances are you’ve already heard about the SCP Foundation. It’s a fictional organization that contains and studies supernatural, anomalous, or unexplained phenomena known as SCPs. These SCPs range from strange creatures, cursed objects, to seemingly ordinary items with bizarre properties. The SCP universe has grown rapidly through collaborative writing, games, and fan-made media. There's even a popular game titled SCP: Containment Breach, which helped introduce the SCP lore to a wider audience.
With that in mind, we thought it would be an exciting and creative topic to explore. It also allows us to push our storytelling skills while blending fiction with real-world elements to make it feel believable.
For my individual piece, I decided to focus on one of the lesser known but incredibly fascinating SCP-169, also called "The Leviathan." This SCP is described as a massive, ancient, possibly prehistoric creature that has gone unnoticed by humanity due to its sheer size and the depth at which it resides. Some reports even suggest that its body spans thousands of kilometers, large enough that it often mistaken for an island chain or underwater landmass.
Growing up, I had a strong interest in prehistoric life. I often read books about dinosaurs, ancient sea creatures, and extinct species. One particular group that fascinated me was the Eurypterids, also known as sea scorpions, giant arthropods that lived hundreds of millions of years ago. Inspired by that, I personally interpret SCP-169 as a fictional, overgrown descendant of these ancient creatures.

VISUAL COMMUNICATION DESIGN (ANIMATION)
Hallo,
My name is Daniel Vio, but you can just call me Vio. I'm from Sintang, West Kalimantan. Currently, I'm a 4th-semester student majoring in DKV Animation, and "Approaches in Multimodal Storytelling" is one of my courses this semester. I'll briefly explain the background of our project's theme and my role within the group.
I wasn't the one who specifically proposed the SCP theme for this project, as it's quite new to me. However, I readily agreed to it because our initial theme was "Horror" in general, which I felt was too broad. Narrowing it down to SCP was a great idea.
My specific focus within this theme is SCP-096, "The Shy Guy." The reason I chose it is because I find SCP-096 to be incredibly unique and it taps into my personal fears. I'm scared of creatures that resemble humans, and I also have a fear of forests and mountains. That's why I picked this entity, I want to imagine and tell stories that represent these very situations.

VISUAL COMMUNICATION DESIGN (NEW MEDIA)
Hello! My name is Jeremy. I’m a student majoring in Visual Communication Design (New Media),i am originally from Bandung. As a creative thinker who loves visual storytelling and world-building, I’ve always been drawn to unconventional narratives, especially those that blend fiction and reality.
For our group podcast project in the “Approaches in Multimodal Storytelling” class, we chose the theme of SCP Universe, and i'd choose SCP-3008, a fictional anomaly known as “The Infinite IKEA.” This bizarre concept is part of the SCP Foundation, a collaborative writing universe centered around strange and supernatural entities. In SCP-3008, once a person enters the IKEA store, they find themselves trapped in an endless version of it, filled with uncanny employees and an ever-changing environment. In this project, I contributed to the narrative structure, tone, and flow of the podcast, ensuring that the listener can feel immersed in the surreal atmosphere while still being grounded in an engaging audio experience.
In Session 13, we explored how characterization plays a vital role in immersive storytelling. I believe that effective characterization isn't just about giving traits to a figure, but about making them believable within their world. In our SCP-3008 podcast, we experimented with subtle audio cues and character dialogue to build tension and personality. My takeaway from this session is that even in fictional, speculative settings, characters need to reflect real human emotions such as fear, confusion, hope to feel relatable.
This project allowed me to dig deeper into how character behavior and tone can transform a setting into a living experience. Whether in animation, audio, or interactive formats, strong characterization is what turns a story into something memorable.

Hey there, my name is Radja James Condrad Albania, I got a bunch of other nickname and also hobbies that are considered to be odd.
Anyways, because we have decided that our project is about the SCP Foundation, I have chosen one of my favorite SCP, which is SCP 001 - The Scarlet King. There are other SCP 001 proposals and The Scarlet King is one of them.
Luckily, I used to get into the SCP Foundation too, I always thought things like ARG and mysteries are fun. I can say SCP Foundation can be considered an ARG since it takes place in another world that is similar to us, hence it is also called as an 'Alternate Reality'.
I obviously won't start discussing about SCP in this text box since this is just an introduction, and I think that's enough about me on this text box. Sincerely, RK (one of my nicknames lol) signing out.

Hello, my name is Verroll Nathanael from Bekasi. I'm a 4th semester student from Binus University, majoring in Visual Communication Design (DKV). For this final assignment, I chose to make a video about SCP-173, because I am indeed interested in the SCP world. In my opinion, SCP-173 has a very unique shape like a statue, but it can kill just by blinking.
