MABIMS (Ministers of Religious Affairs of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore) is a regional cooperation body established in 1989. It serves as an official platform to strengthen religious diplomacy among the four member countries.
VVIP:
Brunei Darussalam → Minister of Religious Affairs (Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Nazir bin Haji Mohd Abdul Rahman).
Indonesia → Minister of Religious Affairs ( Yaqut Cholil Qoumas).
Malaysia → Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) ( Datuk Dr. Mohd Na’im Mokhtar).
Singapore → Minister in charge of Muslim Affairs (Masagos Zulkifli).
During the Majlis Makan Malam MABIMS held on 13–14 and 17 October 2025 at Hotel Ames, Melaka, I served as part of the Stage Manager Crew. This role was crucial because the event welcomed VIP guests and international delegates, requiring a high level of professionalism.
My responsibilities included preparing cue sheets, testing sound and lighting systems, and ensuring performers moved on and off stage smoothly. I acted as the main link between emcees, performers, and the technical crew, giving clear instructions to avoid disruptions. When unexpected issues arose, such as last‑minute program changes, I quickly adapted and guided the team to keep the event running without affecting the audience’s experience.
Through this experience, I learned the importance of teamwork, communication, and problem solving under pressure. I realized that stage management is not only about technical skills but also about leadership and calm decision making. The successful execution of the event gave me confidence in handling large scale programs and strengthened my ability to coordinate with diverse teams.
As a student, this reflection shows how practical training has helped me grow professionally. I now feel more prepared to take on future cultural events and apply these skills in my career in arts management

Festival Seni Selat Melaka X Festival Sungai Melaka 2025 (FSSSM 2025) is a premier cultural celebration that unites traditional and contemporary arts along the historic Melaka River. Held from 24 – 26 October 2025 at Dataran Pengkalan Rama, Melaka, the festival highlights the rich heritage of the Straits of Melaka as a meeting point of diverse cultures and artistic expressions.
With the theme “Mulanya Di Sini! Pusat Pertemuan Budaya”, FSSSM 2025 showcases more than 30 programs including artistic performances, cultural exhibitions, creative bazaars, and youth talent showcases. The festival emphasizes Melaka’s identity as a hub of cultural exchange while promoting tourism and community engagement.
The Festival Seni Selat Melaka X Festival Sungai Melaka 2025 (FSSSM 2025) was a landmark cultural event that brought together artists, communities, and leaders to celebrate the heritage of Melaka. As part of the organizing team, I was entrusted with multiple responsibilities that allowed me to demonstrate my versatility in event management, coordination, and leadership. My involvement spanned across stage management, competition secretariat duties, and transportation logistics, each of which contributed to the overall success of the festival.
One of my most significant roles was serving as Stage Manager (SM) during the highlight program, Malam Lestari Seni. This concert featured renowned performers such as Azlan Typewriter, Aishah Retno, Roslan Madun, and Datuk Syafinaz Selamat. As SM, I was responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of performances, coordinating technical cues, and maintaining clear communication between the crew, performers, and organizers. This role demanded precision, quick decision making, and the ability to manage unexpected challenges, all of which strengthened my confidence and professionalism in handling large scale cultural events.
Beyond the concert, I also served as a secretariat member for several competitions held during the festival. These included the Children’s Storytelling Competition, the Nyonya Kebaya Competition, and the Caricature Competition. My tasks involved preparing official judging forms, managing front of house operations, and ensuring transparency in the evaluation process. These responsibilities highlighted my attention to detail and commitment to fairness, while also allowing me to engage directly with participants and audiences. By balancing administrative duties with on the ground coordination, I was able to contribute to the credibility and smooth execution of these sub events.
In addition, I was entrusted with the role of transportation secretariat, overseeing logistics for artists and JKKN crew members. This required careful planning of travel schedules, ensuring punctuality, and providing hospitality support to guests. Managing transportation was a crucial aspect of the festival, as it directly impacted the comfort and readiness of performers and officials. My ability to organize and adapt to changing circumstances ensured that all movements were efficient and professional.
Collectively, these roles reflect my adaptability and dedication to event management. From the main stage to behind the scenes logistics, I was able to contribute meaningfully to the festival’s success. More importantly, these experiences reinforced my skills in leadership, documentation, and coordination, while deepening my appreciation for cultural programming.
Looking back, FSSSM 2025 was a turning point for me as an event management student. I gained confidence in handling big responsibilities, learned to adapt quickly, and discovered how cultural events can bring communities together. These lessons will guide me in future projects and strengthen my journey in arts management.

Sepetang di MENDAM BERAHI is a cultural showcase that brings to life the legacy of three iconic Malay heroines Tun Fatimah, Tun Teja, and Tun Kudu through a theatrical and narrative experience. Held on 30 October 2025 (Thursday) from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Panggung Seri, Jabatan Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Melaka, this event invites audiences to reflect on the strength, wisdom, and sacrifices of these historical women who shaped the course of Melaka’s royal and political history.
Presented in collaboration with JKKN Melaka, IPGM, and supported by national tourism and cultural bodies, the program blends performance, storytelling, and traditional aesthetics to honor the spirit of Mendam Berahi a legendary royal vessel symbolizing Melaka’s grandeur and emotional depth.
Through dramatic portrayals and cultural interpretation, the event aims to educate, inspire, and reconnect the public with Malaysia’s rich heritage, especially the roles of women in shaping identity and resilience. It is a celebration of Malay femininity, historical pride, and artistic excellence, aligned with the values of Malaysia MADANI and the global spirit of World Tourism Day 2025.
During the cultural program Sepetang di Mendam Berahi held on 30 October 2025 at Panggung Seri, JKKN Melaka, I had the opportunity to contribute in two different roles. In the pre event stage, I worked as part of the technical crew, assisting with sound, lighting, and stage preparations. This gave me valuable experience in backstage operations and taught me the importance of careful planning and teamwork before a performance begins.
Unexpectedly, just a day before the event, I was entrusted with the role of replacement actor, portraying Tun Ali. Taking on this responsibility required me to quickly study the script, understand the character, and perform confidently in front of an audience. Although it was challenging to step into the role at short notice, I managed to adapt and deliver my performance with commitment.
Looking back, this experience showed me how important it is to stay flexible and ready to take on new challenges. I learned that event management is not only about technical preparation but also about being able to step forward when needed. I feel proud that I could contribute both behind the scenes and on stage, and this has strengthened my confidence as a student in arts management.

Puteri Santubong and Puteri Sejinjang, two celestial sisters, are torn between love, duty, and destiny. When Prince Serapi arrives as a symbol of unity, the balance of nature is disrupted by the opposing forces of Mambang Hitam and Mambang Putih, while Megat Alam Shah tests loyalty and honor. This musical fantasy brings to life the legendary tale of Santubong and Sejinjang through enchanting music, choreography, and visual storytelling revealing how a tragic conflict gave birth to a myth that still echoes in Sarawak’s cultural memory.
During my internship, I was given the role of Stage Crew Manager. At first, I felt nervous because it was a big responsibility to handle the backstage team and make sure everything ran smoothly. I had to manage rehearsal schedules, costumes, props, and also communicate with the crew during the show.
This experience taught me that being a manager is not only about giving instructions, but also about teamwork and problem solving. Sometimes last-minute changes happened, and I had to stay calm and adjust quickly so the performance could continue. I learned how important it is to be flexible and to support the team.
I also improved my leadership and communication skills. I realized that good leadership means motivating others and building trust, not just being strict. When the crew felt confident, the whole production worked better.
Overall, this role helped me grow as a student and future event manager. I am proud that I could contribute to the success of the production, and I believe this experience will prepare me for bigger responsibilities in the future.

Ghost Conference: The Final Game is a theatre production organized by the Department of National Culture and Arts (JKKN) Melaka in 2025. Directed by Raja Azrey and written by Mohd Isa Maarof, the play presents a fictional assembly of ghosts who gather to decide their destiny in the human world. Combining elements of horror, satire, and local folklore, the production highlights Malaysian cultural narratives through creative performance.
The event was staged at Auditorium Tun Sri Lanang, JKKN Melaka on 9 November 2025, featuring both the main performance and an open audition session to recruit new actors
During the audition day for Ghost Conference: The Final Game, I was assigned several important responsibilities. First, I printed the audition script and prepared the registration table to ensure the process ran smoothly. I transferred the names of participants into a new registration sheet, which helped organize the data more clearly.
On the day itself, I handled the front-of-house (FOH) duties, welcoming participants and guiding them through the audition process. I also discussed with the director about the selected names, since I was responsible for keeping the official list. To support the director, I prepared pens and the updated name list, making sure everything was ready for review.
This experience taught me the importance of accuracy, organization, and communication in event management. By managing both administrative and FOH tasks, I gained confidence in multitasking and learned how small details like preparing materials and keeping records play a big role in the success of an audition program.

The Festival Warisan Etnik Nusantara 2025 is a cultural celebration that brings together the diverse ethnic heritage of the Nusantara region on one stage. Hosted at the National Department for Culture and Arts Complex (JKKN) Melaka, the festival will take place over two days, from 7 to 8 November 2025.
The program features traditional dance performances, ethnic music showcases, heritage costume displays, and interactive activities involving local communities and tourism partners. Its aim is to strengthen cultural identity, foster unity, and highlight the richness of traditional arts to both the public and international visitors.
Aligned with Malaysia’s tourism campaigns such as #VisitMalaysia2026 and #CutiCutiMalaysia, the festival serves as a vital platform to introduce the beauty of Nusantara traditions to younger generations and the global audience.
After handling the Puteri Santubong Sejinjang musical theatre, I continued my role as Stage Crew Manager in the Festival Warisan Etnik Nusantara 2025. This time, I felt more confident because the previous experience had trained me to stay calm and organized under pressure.
I became more skilled in arranging rehearsal schedules, coordinating costumes, and managing backstage communication. Compared to before, I could solve problems faster and give clearer instructions to the crew. I also learned how to balance technical work with leadership, making sure the team felt supported and motivated.
Through this festival, I realized that my skills in stage management were improving. I could handle bigger responsibilities, work with different cultural groups, and adapt to unexpected changes more effectively. This growth showed me that practice and experience are the best teachers, and each program helped me become more professional.
Overall, continuing as Stage Crew Manager made me more confident in my abilities. I am proud that I am not only learning as a student, but also becoming more prepared for future roles in event management and cultural productions.

Karya Teater "Persidangan Hantu: Permainan Akhir"
During this week, I assisted in managing the production budget by discussing the breakdown with the director. I also prepared rehearsal schedules for the KL actors at JKKN WP Kuala Lumpur and monitored the Melaka actors during their practice sessions at JKKN Melaka. Coordinating two teams across different locations required careful planning and communication to ensure consistency in training and progress.
In addition, I was responsible for arranging meals and refreshments for the team. After preparing the meal schedule, I coordinated food and beverage needs alongside the budget breakdown, rehearsal timetable, and accommodation planning, which I had previously organized with the Deputy Director.
Through these tasks, I gained valuable experience in balancing financial management, rehearsal coordination, logistics, and hospitality. The exposure to both KL and Melaka rehearsals gave me a deeper understanding of how production teams operate across different venues while maintaining unified artistic direction.

During this week, I carried out my responsibilities as the Production Manager by monitoring the photoshoot session for the lead actors at JKKN WP Kuala Lumpur. Before the session, I collected the costumes from Centrestage KL to ensure they were ready and properly prepared for use. This task required coordination between the costume provider and the production team as well as close attention to detail in supporting the actors’ needs during the photoshoot.
Through this experience, I gained practical skills in production support, actor preparation, and logistical management. It also gave me insight into how promotional activities such as photoshoots are integrated into the overall theatre production process.

During this week, I served as the Front of House (FOH) team member for the theatre program Jom Merenggey. My responsibilities included managing the seating arrangement, tagging chairs, and ensuring the audience was properly accommodated. The task was challenging due to limited manpower, as only two people were assigned to handle FOH duties.
The schedule was packed with theatre preparations, which required me to balance multiple responsibilities under time pressure. In addition, the seating had to be filled manually using Google Form submissions, which demanded accuracy and close attention to detail. Despite these constraints, I worked to maintain order and provide a welcoming experience for the audience.
Through this experience, I learned the importance of FOH management in ensuring smooth audience flow and overall event success. It strengthened my skills in problem-solving, time management, and teamwork under challenging conditions
During the one week full rehearsal of the theatre production Persidangan Hantu, I took on the role of Production Manager and closely monitored the situation to ensure everything ran smoothly. My responsibility was not only to oversee the rehearsal process but also to manage logistics, budgeting, and the overall welfare of the cast and crew.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was arranging proper accommodation for the actors and production team who came from Kuala Lumpur. After several negotiations, I successfully secured sponsorship for 11 days at Anstay Bayou Lagoon, covering 9 studio units. The original cost was RM14,000, but I managed to reduce it to RM7,000. This achievement was very meaningful because it helped ease the financial burden of the production and allowed us to allocate more resources to costumes, technical needs, and documentation.
Throughout the rehearsals, I observed the strong commitment and discipline of the actors. Despite the packed schedule and long hours, they remained focused and dedicated. As Production Manager, I felt proud to support them by ensuring their comfort and providing a conducive environment for their work.
This experience also taught me that being a Production Manager goes beyond scheduling and monitoring. It requires constant communication, problem-solving, and attention to small details such as meals, transportation, and technical readiness. These aspects, although minor, can greatly affect the overall success of the production.
In conclusion, managing the full rehearsal of Persidangan Hantu gave me valuable lessons in negotiation, financial planning, and leadership. I realized that the success of a theatre production depends not only on the performance on stage but also on the smooth execution behind the scenes. With teamwork and careful planning, I believe this production will deliver a powerful impact to the audience
During the promotional phase of Persidangan Hantu, I was entrusted with executing physical marketing at Bangunan Merah, one of Melaka’s most iconic landmarks. This task was crucial in reaching a wider audience beyond digital platforms and creating direct visibility for the production.
One of the challenges I encountered was the last minute requests from the director, which required quick adaptation and immediate problem-solving. While the team managed to carry out the plan, the rushed adjustments highlighted the importance of early coordination and clear communication between production and creative leadership.
Another oversight was the lack of basic provisions such as mineral water during the outdoor promotion. This small but significant detail affected the stamina of the artists, especially since many of them were older and required more care to sustain their energy. From this, I learned that logistics in marketing are not limited to banners, flyers, or technical setup they also include the welfare of the performers who represent the production in public spaces.
Despite these shortcomings, the physical marketing effort succeeded in drawing attention from both locals and tourists. The visibility at Bangunan Merah created a strong cultural presence and reinforced the production’s identity as part of Melaka’s heritage scene.
This experience reminded me that marketing in theatre is an extension of production management. It requires the same attention to detail, negotiation, and care as rehearsals or performances. By balancing visibility with welfare, I can ensure that promotional activities not only attract audiences but also uphold the professionalism and dignity of the production team
During the program at Sultan Salahudin Abdul Aziz Shah Al-Haj Orphanage, I contributed by assisting the committee in preparing and arranging gifts for the children. My role was to ensure that the gifts were organized systematically so that the distribution process could run smoothly and without confusion.
Although this task may seem minor compared to other responsibilities, I realized that such supportive roles are essential to the overall success of an event. Properly arranged gifts not only made the program more efficient but also created a sense of appreciation and joy among the recipients.
One of the lessons I learned was the importance of attention to detail. Even small aspects like labeling, categorizing, and arranging gifts can influence the flow of the program. I also discovered the value of teamwork, as my contribution complemented the efforts of the main committee members, ensuring that the event was well coordinated.
This experience taught me that event management is not only about leadership roles but also about the collective effort of every individual involved. By assisting in gift preparation and arrangement, I was able to contribute to the smooth running of the program and help create a meaningful experience for the children.

On the day of the theatre performance Persidangan Hantu, I took on the role of Stage Crew, specifically managing the visual elements of the production. My responsibility was to ensure that the visual cues, projections, and technical aspects were executed smoothly, contributing to the overall atmosphere and storytelling of the performance.
At the same time, I also played a supportive role in monitoring the welfare of the cast and crew. Whenever they had questions or needed assistance, I made sure to respond promptly and provide solutions. This dual responsibility required me to balance technical precision with interpersonal care, ensuring that both the stage visuals and the people behind the scenes were well taken care of.
Through this experience, I realized that being part of the stage crew is not limited to handling equipment or visuals it also involves being attentive to the needs of others and maintaining a supportive environment. Even small gestures, such as answering questions or checking on their comfort, can make a significant difference in the morale and performance of the team.
Serving as Stage Crew during Persidangan Hantu gave me valuable insights into the importance of combining technical expertise with human care. By managing visuals while also supporting the welfare of the team, I contributed to a performance that was not only visually impactful but also carried out in a spirit of collaboration and mutual support.

When the Protocol, Ceremony, and Event Management Unit from Sarawak came to Melaka, I was entrusted with the role of photographer. My responsibility was to document the entire program, capturing both formal and candid moments that reflected the significance of the visit.
As the photographer, I needed to be attentive and responsive, ensuring that every important aspect of the event was recorded from official proceedings to interactions between guests and hosts. This required not only technical skills in photography but also an understanding of protocol, as certain moments carried ceremonial importance and had to be captured with precision and respect.
At the same time, I acted as a point of support whenever participants had questions or needed guidance. Balancing my role as photographer with this supportive function taught me the importance of being versatile and approachable in event management.
Through this experience, I learned that photography in an official event is more than just taking pictures it is about storytelling, documentation, and professionalism. The images I captured became part of the event’s record, contributing to its legacy and ensuring that the efforts of both Sarawak and Melaka teams were preserved.
Serving as photographer during the visit of Sarawak’s Protocol, Ceremony, and Event Management Unit gave me valuable insights into the role of documentation in event management. During this official dinner, I was responsible solely for managing the visual cues throughout the program. A major challenge arose when the scheduled performances ended earlier than expected. The program PIC requested an additional four performances to fill the gap.
In a short amount of time, I had to quickly source a new backdrop and instruct the prompter to prepare new song lyrics for the added performances. This situation required me to act decisively, coordinate under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes.
Through this experience, I realized the importance of flexibility and quick problem solving in stage management. It strengthened my ability to remain calm under time constraints, while ensuring that the event continued smoothly despite unexpected changes.

During this week, I assisted with Front of House (FOH) duties, which included lifting and arranging chairs and tables to accommodate the large number of attendees. With over 100 participants present, additional chairs had to be added to the auditorium to ensure everyone was seated comfortably.
I also supported the multimedia team, preparing materials for the officer in charge of social media updates and reporting. Balancing these responsibilities required adaptability and quick coordination, especially under time constraints.
Through this experience, I learned the importance of teamwork and resourcefulness in event management. It strengthened my ability to respond to unexpected challenges, maintain order, and contribute to both the operational and communication aspects of a professional meeting.
Next week, I am responsible for completing the conference report that must be submitted to H1 JKKN. As the Artist & Production Manager, my role is to ensure that all contracts I prepared are arranged in the correct order and properly documented.
A key challenge is verifying that every payment receipt is complete and accurate, as these serve as essential proof for the report. This requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate administrative tasks under tight deadlines.
Through this responsibility, I recognize the importance of precision and accountability in production management. It reinforces my skills in documentation, compliance, and professional reporting, ensuring that both artistic and logistical aspects of the program are managed effectively.
This week, we were celebrated by the officers of JKKN in conjunction with the second to last week of our internship. The farewell ceremony was a meaningful moment, as it recognized our contributions and marked the approaching end of our placement.
Being part of this occasion allowed me to appreciate the value of teamwork and the relationships built throughout the internship. It was not only a gesture of appreciation but also a reminder of the professional growth and learning I experienced during my time here.
Through this farewell, I realized how important recognition and closure are in any professional journey. It strengthened my motivation to carry forward the skills and experiences I gained into future roles, while cherishing the support and guidance received from the JKKN officers.
During my internship, I had the privilege of attending the Records and Asset Management System Course, an experience that proved to be a turning point in my professional development. While administrative tasks are often perceived as secondary to "core" business functions, this course demonstrated that a systematic approach to documentation and asset tracking is, in fact, the bedrock of any high-performing organization.
Initially, I viewed filing as a routine, technical necessity. However, the course fundamentally reshaped my perspective. I learned that a file is far more than a folder on a shelf; it represents the "institutional memory" of the organization. Through the study of classification codes and indexing strategies, I realized that the goal of a filing system is not just storage, but rapid retrieval. In a fast-paced corporate environment, the ability to access information accurately and instantly is what determines a department's productivity. A disorganized desk or a mislabeled file is not just a small error it is a bottleneck that hinders the entire workflow.
The transition from managing paper to managing physical assets introduced me to the concepts of stewardship and accountability. Asset management is a rigorous process that spans the entire lifecycle of company property, from acquisition and maintenance to eventual disposal. This module emphasized that integrity is central to administration. By meticulously tracking inventory and capital assets, an organization ensures transparency and prevents financial leakage. This experience taught me that being an effective professional means being a responsible guardian of the resources entrusted to you.
Beyond the technical skills, the most significant impact of this course was the development of my soft skills, particularly my attention to detail. Navigating complex organizational codes required a high level of discipline and patience. It encouraged me to move away from a "good enough" mindset toward a standard of excellence and precision. I also learned the importance of proactive communication; when faced with complex procedures, I found that seeking guidance from supervisors was essential to maintaining the integrity of the system.
In conclusion, the Records and Asset Management Course has provided me with a sophisticated toolkit that I will carry into my future career. It has instilled in me a deep respect for the systems that keep an organization running smoothly. I am now confident in my ability to manage organizational data and assets with the high degree of accountability and precision required in today’s professional world. This knowledge is not merely a box checked for my internship; it is a permanent asset in my professional identity.
