Richard is a member of the following fraternities: Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), Legion of America, Association of United States Army (AUSA), U S Army Air Defense Artillery Association, Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), among others. Richard is a lifelong learner, while pursuing his doctoral studies, he plans to contribute his military and academic accomplishments to the following fields: Academia, DoD Research & Engineering, Industry and Voluntary Works.

Arturo Rodriguez

PhD Student, Mechanical Engineering, UTEP

Arturo Rodríguez is currently an NNSA NGFP Fellow at PNNL/NNSA and Ph.D. Student in mechanical engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and holder of the NSF GRFP Fellowship. Previously, Arturo has been an AFRL Scholar at AFRL Maui Optical and Supercomputing Site (AMOS), Collaborator of the CRUNCH Group at Brown University, Collaborator of Dr. Hamid Johari’s Group at CSUN, R&D intern at the Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) Aerosciences Department, an R&D intern at the Department of Oceanic, Atmospheric and Remote Sciences at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL), an R&D intern in the Department of Fire Science and Technology at SNL, and researcher for the SIEMENS competition at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). Arturo brings experience as a Computational Engineering researcher with application to fractals, aerodynamics, hypersonic flow, atmospheric and oceanic sciences, combustion, gas dynamics, multiphase flow, and machine learning (ML). Arturo's research has made contributions to the field of data-driven solutions to physics problems. Analysis of state-of-the-art ML compared to the mechanics of fluids generated with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling. Arturo is a Houston Endowment, Lockheed Martin, and The Boeing Company's former scholar. In his spare time, Arturo loves to read articles and books with new philosophical and motivational perspectives. There is no story of classical literature that Arturo is not interested in; Arturo loves to read, watch plays, and watch heartwarming movies.
