Today is a big day for The Research Team. The rest of the team take to the skies to travel to Pittsburgh. Benita and Lynn will arrive at the convention hall around noon to set up the posters and booth. Stay tuned today for more adventures, pictures, and hopefully so videos.
Meet Wandering Wally. He is Karen's travel buddy. He has been traveling around the world for years spreading Myositis awareness. He is masked up and ready to take to the blue skies.
Where's Wally? He's right there in the cockpit with Karen! The pilots were kind enough to let them take a look around and get a quick picture before take off. Safe travels Karen and Wally! See you in Pittsburgh tonight.
Benita and Lynn arrived right around lunchtime. It's a beautiful day in downtown Pittsburgh and our room has a beautiful view of the river. Karen is in Boston with a layover enjoying some calamari at Legal Seafood. Manuel and his wife are about to leave Houston. Stephen and Shaylee will arrive in the morning. We are excited to be your voice tomorrow. Don't forget to leave your questions and comments for us. The agenda is on the main GCOM page. There isn't a way to stream the conference so we are going to do our best to be your eyes and ears.
Benita and Lynn set up the booth. After months of working on banners, brochures, posters, and postcards, we are happy to see it all come together. We will share more details from each banner later. For now, click on the video for a small peak.
Each Patient Organization has a space in the main hallway to hang a poster. When Benita and Lynn designed the poster, they wanted to show the heart of MSU. What better way to do that than share the faces of our beloved volunteers. You are here with us in our hearts! 💙
MSU teamed up with Myositis organizations from all over the world to make sure the voices of the patients are heard this week. Not only do we have a joint poster, but we will have joint sessions and members from each organization will be speaking during patient expert talks.
MSU's Chief Science Officer, Manuel Lubinus and his wife arrived from Houston. Manuel will be moderating the Patient Expert Panel on Wednesday and presenting our Burden of Disease scientific poster. Be sure to tune in to the Day 2 Page on Wednesday to hear from him as well as our Vice President, Benita Moyers. We will make sure to get some video footage for you to watch.
Don't forget to join us by leaving your comments and questions. We are looking forward to hearing from you!
