Exploring the Problems of Mindanao State University-Main Students through Confessions: A Mixed Methods Approach
This paper explores the common challenges faced by Mindanao State University-Main Students, as shared through their anonymous confessions collected during the 2024 Mental Health Week celebration spearheaded by the Panginam Healing and Wellness Center. This initiative of SINGAYO-MSU Marawi Student Peer Facilitators’ Circle under the Division of Student Affairs provided a safe space for students to voice their concerns and struggles. This paper aims to identify key themes on student concerns and provide actionable recommendations for the Division of Student Affairs to improve student welfare.
Assessing Student Mental Health: Dormitory-Based DASS-21 Screening
This paper presents the findings of a mental health screening initiative conducted among dormitory-residing students of Mindanao State University-Main Campus using the DASS-21 tool. Spearheaded by the Singayo-MSU Marawi Student Peer Facilitators’ Circle under the Division of Student Affairs, the project aimed to assess levels of depression, anxiety, and stress among student residents. The results offer insight into prevalent mental health concerns and serve as a basis for targeted interventions and policy recommendations to enhance student support services.
The Singayo-SPFC research team is still completing the final draft of this paper.
