History

The Student Peer Facilitators' Circle was established out of a growing need to bridge the gap between students and the support services offered by the Division of Student Affairs. As students navigated the various academic, social, and personal challenges of campus life, it became increasingly clear that many were hesitant to approach traditional counseling resources, often out of fear, stigma, or simply not knowing where to turn.

In response, a group of forward-thinking student leaders and dedicated guidance counselors collaborated to form a student-centered initiative that would allow peers to support one another in meaningful ways. What began as a small volunteer group committed to promoting mental wellness and emotional support quickly grew into an organized and structured program — now known as the Student Peer Facilitators' Circle.
