Maintaining a high level of professionalism in the classroom is crucial for teachers in order to build positive and appropriate relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. According to Danielson's Framework for Teaching, the professional responsibilities of teachers include reflecting in teaching, maintaining accurate records, communicating with families, participating in professional communities, growing and developing professionally, and generally demonstrating professionalism.

Being a life-long learner and dedicating ourselves to professional growth is essential, because if we want our students to be passionate about education, we must be the ones to pass that passion on to them. Teachers need to demonstrate professionalism to the highest degree possible. This can be achieved through displaying honesty and a high moral code in the classroom, and complying with the guidelines set forth for teachers by our school districts. Exhibiting professionalism is key to being effective educators because it affects the way we are perceived by our students, our colleagues, and the educational community.
