What to expect from me
Dear Students and family,
If you have browsed this site, you've probably figured out that I am a little goofy and a lot nerdy about Texas history. I hope you will be too, this year! But at the same time, we are going to get serious about learning, building strong academic skills, teamwork and, coming to school, and giving ourselves and each other our very best each day.
Here's what I promise to all of my students:
To provide meaningful lessons that will help you grow not only in your knowledge of Texas history, but develop as a student and as an emerging young adult in our community.
To be fair and reasonable in my expectations of you.
To provide a fun, safe, and welcoming classroom for you at all times.
To welcome your questions, concerns, make expectations clear and explain a little more when needed.
To hold you accountable for your efforts and actions when it is supportive to your success and growth, and your classmates.
To treat you with dignity and respect and make sure your classmates do the same.
I look forward to getting to know you and hope to get you excited about Texas history. There is so much cool stuff to learn about this state; the land, the stories, our rich culture. The best part is that it is all right here in our own backyard! I hope you learn things this year that make you want to get out and see this big, beautiful state of ours. It has so much to offer and YOU have so much to offer in return!
Okay, confession. I am a total nerd. I love reading, travel, mysteries and histories in any and all formats, board games, classic rock, puzzles of all kinds, telling stories, and spending time with my kids and pets.
I love keeping in touch with friends all over the country. I have lived both in California and the NYC area, so they are spread out all over the place. As for that man standing behind me? No idea! This was taken a while back at Jackson Square in New Orleans. That's the way it rolls in NOLA. Check out my other travels here.
These are my two kiddos, Charlie & Mikey. Charlie graduated from PHS in 2019 and is currently attending Arizona State University.
Mikey graduated from Hendrickson in 2021 and is now in the 18+ program in Hutto.
We also have a dog and two cats. But, they don't go to school.
