In the students' weekly take-home folder, I will be sending out weekly newsletters to the parents. These letters will explain what units we plan on learning in the students' classes that upcoming week, along with a weekly calendar with the listed assignments we plan to complete. I like starting off the school week with these letters because I feel it keeps the parents of each student engaged in the classroom curriculum. In addition, if they have any concerns or questions about the planned material for the week, I am more than happy for them to reach out to me! I think this provides an even balance of teacher-parent relationships and open communication with the student in and out of the classroom environment.
