Welcome to STEAM in Room 33!

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) gives students opportunities to create, explore, design, and problem-solve! In Grade 3, students will take part in hands-on STEM and makerspace challenges where they will ask questions, test ideas, build prototypes, learn from mistakes, and improve their designs.

Our STEM learning will also help students develop Manitoba’s 6 Global Competencies:

• Critical Thinking – thinking through problems and finding possible solutions.

• Creativity – using imagination to develop new ideas and designs.

• Collaboration – working together, sharing responsibilities, and learning from others.

• Communication – explaining ideas, listening to others, and sharing our thinking.

• Citizenship – considering how our ideas and choices can positively impact others and the world around us.

• Connection to Self – building confidence, perseverance, independence, and reflecting on our own learning.

Our goal is to encourage curious, creative, and confident learners who are willing to take risks, work together, and find solutions to real-world problems.
