Welcome to Room 23

Our classroom is a warm and welcoming space where children learn through play, curiosity, and creativity. This year will be filled with laughter, discovery, and growth as our youngest learners begin their school journey.

Our Classroom Community

We’ll spend lots of time learning routines, building friendships, and practicing kindness. Children will learn what it means to be part of a caring community where everyone feels safe, included, and respected.

Literacy & Language

Every day we explore stories, songs, and conversations that build language skills and a love for reading. This year we’ll also begin using UFLI (Universal Foundations for Literacy Instruction) to help children develop strong skills with letters, sounds, and words in fun and engaging ways.

Mathematics

Math in Room 23 is all about hands-on learning! Through games, activities, and playful exploration, children will learn about numbers, shapes, sorting, patterns, and problem-solving in meaningful ways.

Inquiry & Exploration

We love to wonder and explore! Through seasonal themes, nature walks, and student questions, we’ll connect science and social studies to the world around us, encouraging curiosity and discovery.

Creative Arts

Art, music, drama, and movement are part of our everyday learning. Children will have many opportunities to express themselves creatively, and one of the highlights of the year will be our Winter Concert, where students perform for families!

Gross & Fine Motor Development

From outdoor play to building, drawing, and movement breaks, children will strengthen their coordination, balance, and fine motor skills while having fun.
