Why is reading important?
Reading is an essential skill to have in life. Most things we do every day require some level of reading. Even very early in life, right after you learn to read, you start using reading as a way to learn. In order to keep up with the world, its expectations, and its rules, you need to know how to read.
Why is good literature important?
Good literature is important because it enriches our understanding of the people and world around us. A good piece of literature will teach you things you never knew or even considered before. Being able to read good literature allows for the positive development and shaping of the reader.
Recommended Literature
I recommend The Kissing Hand, as this book is great for children dealing with the anxieties that come with being away from home.
I recommend The Color Monster as it is a great book to teach children how to identify and process their emotions.
I recommend The Food Group series as they are great at teaching children self-expression and social emotional learning.
I recommend One Family as it teaches children to embrace and accept the diversity of family.
I recommend the Pete the Cat series as they teach children to try new things, be confident in their selves, and explore the world around them with positivity.
