Drawing and Painting I

Drawing and Painting Course Overview ( Spring Only)

Drawing and Painting 1 is a Visual Arts course that introduces students to the fundamentals of drawing and painting.  In this course, students learn specific drawing techniques and practice observational drawing.  Students build skills and knowledge in using specific mediums and techniques through hands-on practice and specific projects that will challenge students creative and artistic abilities to draw. It emphasizes the skills necessary to provide students with a perceptual base leading to successful drawing and painting experiences and cultivates students' creative thinking skills by allowing them to express ideas, emotions, and personalities through their artwork. This course is offered in the Spring and is a mixed-level course that includes Drawing and Painting I and II.
