Parent involvement is the participation of a parent or guardian in their student's education and development. This can include many things such as simply reading to your child, participating in school events and volunteering in the school, and communicating with the school.
Parent involvement is beneficial for students because it helps them have a higher academic achievement, better social skills, better health, and a sense of belonging. Parental involvement also allows parents to understand and be aware of what is going on in their student's life.
You can be involved in your student's education through reading to them or with them, being involved in school activities, and be in contact with the school. In our classroom, you can be involved by volunteering for any school events or classroom events that we might need help with or by volunteering to be a class reader on one Friday. I will be sending out any events you can help with and a sign up for a date to read to our class through our newsletters. I will also post announcements for these too. If you have any questions feel free to contact me through ClassDojo or email.
