What is an AUP?
In my classroom, I will be implementing what is called an Acceptable Use Policy, also known as an AUP. An AUP is a simple agreement between me (the teacher), students, and parents that allows us to understand the classroom rules and what is expected from the students. A set of rules that I enforce is a great example of adding structure and expectations for students. An AUP may also be a good idea to implement at home. I have a template for an example of criteria that you could use should you choose to implement an AUP at home (location: Acceptable Use Policy > Parent AUP) . Helping my students know their rules helps me be a better educator for them!
