ATs are highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals who render service or treatment under the direction of, or in collaboration with, a physician. Services provided by Athletic Trainers include primary care, injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion and education, emergent care, examination and clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions.
The SFUSD High Schools have contracted Athletic Trainers through UCSF since 2002. These ATs work part-time at their assigned High Schools and part-time in the UCSF Sports Medicine Clinics. The UCSF ATs are experts in Sports Medicine and can help the student-athletes throughout the school year. They are also able to assist with connecting student-athletes to Sports Medicine providers and Orthopaedic surgeons at both UCSF and Kaiser.
Ms. Elise has been the Athletic Trainer at Lincoln High School since September 2005.
